Nova Poshta has hired AI recruiter David to interview in 16 countries. He works 24/7 and is already saving thousands of hours for the HR team

Nova Group, which includes Nova Poshta, has launched an AI recruiter named David for initial interviews in the company’s European offices. The AI ​​agent is already working in 16 countries, conducting interviews in multiple languages, and, according to the company’s estimates, is saving recruiters up to 4,000 hours of work per year.

Nova Group, which includes Nova Poshta, has launched an AI recruiter named David for initial interviews in the company’s European offices. The AI ​​agent is already working in 16 countries, conducting interviews in multiple languages, and, according to the company’s estimates, is saving recruiters up to 4,000 hours of work per year.

According to Forbes Ukraine, David conducts the initial screening of candidates for operational vacancies in Nova Post’s European branches. The AI ​​recruiter checks basic knowledge, analyzes answers in real time, and determines the candidate’s level of suitability for the vacancy. «Hi, my name is David. I’m an AI recruiter,» is how some interviews in Nova’s European business now begin.

According to Daniil Maltsev, Head of AI at Nova Group, the AI ​​recruiter works 24/7, supports any language, and costs the company about three times less than an initial interview with a live HR person. «Previously, HR was limited to the number of interviews they could conduct per day. Now there is no limit,» Maltsev explained.

Nova says the solution has been particularly useful for mass hiring. Nearly 40% of candidates are interviewed in the evenings or on weekends — times when live recruiters are typically unavailable. Thanks to this, the company has reduced the time between applying for a job and the first interview from several days to a few minutes.

Currently, Nova Post Europe employs only six recruiters. «We plan to cover the workload on recruiters not by expanding the team, but by implementing AI tools,» says Valentyna Khrystenko, HR Director at Nova Post Europe. According to the company, Nova hires up to 500 people in Europe each year, and up to 50 initial interviews can be conducted for one vacancy.

David was created by Ukrainian startup Careeo.tech, which operates on a subscription model. Nova did not develop the system itself — the company decided to buy a ready-made solution for a faster launch.

The next area that Nova plans to transfer to AI agents is logistics planning and dispatching. «This is the core of our business. The solution is already in the works,» says Maltsev. According to Forbes, so far only one candidate has refused to be interviewed by an AI recruiter.

Nova Group is not the first company to use an AI agent in recruiting. Startup ConnectiveOne hired AI recruiter Ivanna.
