Ukrainian company NUMO Robotics has changed the basic configuration of its NUMO UAV. Starting in April, all new platforms will be supplied with updated tracks, larger batteries, an infrared headlight, and the ability to install mine trawls.
As NUMO Robotics reports on Facebook, the updates concern the basic version of the platform. From now on, the NRK will be equipped with a new factory rubber track, will have a maximum speed of up to 10 km/h, batteries with a capacity of 140 Ah, ground clearance of 300 mm, and an infrared headlight.
Separately, the company noted that the list of standard solutions also includes mine trawls. Thus, the manufacturer has not simply updated individual components, but has actually fixed a new standard platform configuration for all NUMO NRCs, which will be produced from April.
The changes indicate that the developer is betting not only on mobility, but also on the practicality of using the machine in the field. The increased battery capacity should increase the autonomy of the platform, the higher ground clearance should improve cross-country ability, and the infrared headlight should simplify work in the dark without excessive unmasking. The addition of mine trawls also indicates an expansion of the NRC’s application scenarios.
In its statement, the company does not specify whether these changes affected the range, mass, or cost of the complex, but emphasizes that this is the form in which the platform will be delivered in the future. That is, this is not a separate update or experimental batch, but a change in the standard for the entire production line.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how Numo Robotics expanded the capabilities of its Numo ground robotic complex thanks to interchangeable modules for logistics, engineering tasks, and combat use.
The Ministry of Defense is accelerating the supply of NRCs and plans to purchase 25,000 ground drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the first half of this year
