As reported by BleepingComputer, OpenAI has begun a gradual rollout of a new feature in the web version of ChatGPT. It allows you to customize the nature of your interaction with the chatbot according to your preferences. To do this, click on the profile icon and select the «Customize ChatGPT» item, where the new settings appear.

The personalities feature is designed to make ChatGPT a more flexible and personalized tool. For example, if a user is annoyed by the bot’s excessive politeness or admiration, they can choose the «Cynic» mode. And if, on the contrary, they need the AI to listen more and comment less, then «Listener» will do.
The new feature is currently being rolled out gradually, and not all users are yet able to use it. OpenAI notes that it is working on improving the user experience, allowing it to create an assistant that is not only functional, but also comfortable for communication.
The company has previously experimented with custom GPTs, where you could create chatbots with specific behaviors. The new «personalities» are a simplified but more accessible form of such customization, built right into the ChatGPT interface.
