Osiris AI named the top 8 drone interceptors on the market: the list includes Ukrainian STING, Octopus, and P1-SUN
Osiris AI analysts have compiled a selection of UAV interceptors that should address the main problem of modern air defense: there are many cheap drones, and the missiles to destroy them are disproportionately expensive.
Osiris AI analysts have compiled a selection of UAV interceptors that should address the main problem of modern air defense: there are many cheap drones, and the missiles to destroy them are disproportionately expensive.
According to the startup Osiris AI, the list includes several Ukrainian systems. The authors describe Wild Hornets' STING as an expensive quadcopter interceptor with a warhead, a front-facing camera, and control via FPV or a ground station. The article gives an estimated cost of about $2,100 per unit and claims that the system has allegedly hit more than 600 enemy UAVs in five months. Speed upgrades from approximately 160 km/h to 315 km/h are also mentioned.
Another Ukrainian model in the selection is the Octopus. It is noted for its terminal guidance based on image recognition, which reduces dependence on constant manual tracking of the target and can help in conditions of active radio interference. The authors of the review separately mention that the British government has confirmed the launch of Octopus production in the UK from January 2026.
Also on the list is Swift Beat, a system that the report attributes to Eric Schmidt’s support. Osiris AI cites Ukrainian officials' claims that these interceptors allegedly account for up to 90% of Shahed’s intercepts in certain operational areas, but details about the platform itself are scarce.
Among other solutions, the Ukrainian P1-SUN from SkyFall is mentioned. The text notes a ceiling of up to 5 km and a 50% increase in maximum speed from the base 300 km/h, as well as the assumption that such dynamics expands the list of potential targets.
Outside the Ukrainian bloc, Osiris AI included the Latvian BLAZE from Origin Robotics (a combination of radar, optics, and computer vision to select priority targets), the American DroneHunter F700 from Fortem Technologies (interception with a mesh to avoid debris near infrastructure), Raytheon’s Coyote C-UAS (a heavier class with rail launch and long-range intercepts), and MARSS’s Interceptor-MR (a hybrid scheme with vertical launch and high pursuit speed).
UAV interceptors are becoming a separate segment of anti-drone defense, because they cover what is poorly scalable by classical means. For mass attacks, the price of one interception and the rate of launches are important, which is why expensive FPV interceptors appear. For covering cities and critical infrastructure, safe destruction or capture of the target, operation at night and under radio interference are more important, which is why autonomous systems with radars, optics and built-in guidance algorithms are being developed.
