PC Gamer journalists have already announced the winners in the following categories:
«Why does GSC feel the need to procedurally generate names for every person you encounter, enemies and otherwise? I have no idea, but where most studios would simply call the mobs you encounter in the Zone 'Bandit' or 'Patrolman on Duty', STALKER 2 gives them names like 'Vanya the Scoundrel' or 'Gena the Sleepy'. It’s an incredibly minor choice that ultimately lends humanity to both your enemies and the game as a whole, reviving a Morrowind-style approach where everyone is given at least a vague place in the world,» noted the publication’s journalist Joshua Valens.
Editor Fraser Brown said he was delighted with how much STALKER 2 transported him to 2007. «The game is great, of course, but it still has that strange, quirky soul that keeps me wondering,» he said.
«When everything works as it should, STALKER 2 delivers one of the most mature, beautiful, complex, and engaging gaming experiences to date. It’s a game that captures much of what PC gaming is all about, and in my opinion, is a worthy winner of this year’s Spirit of PC Award,» explained Robert Jones, print editor of PC Gamer.
The winners in the categories of «Best Role-Playing Game», «Best Expansion», «Best Multiplayer», and «Game of the Year» according to PC Gamer will be announced by December 31st.
