Hetmantsev said that there are no plans to raise taxes in 2025 unless events begin to develop according to a pessimistic scenario.
The head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev, said that Ukraine is «fully secure in terms of budget revenues,» so there are no plans to raise taxes next year. However, «some decisions» are not ruled out if the events in Russia’s war against Ukraine turn out badly.
This is reported by «Suspilne». According to Hetmantsev, the 140 billion hryvnias that the tax increase should bring in 2024 have already been calculated in the budget for next year, so the authorities do not see «any risks in the development of the baseline scenario».
«But we can have a pessimistic scenario — if there are negative developments at the front and additional revenues are needed, then certain solutions are not ruled out», — the People’s Deputy noted.
In his opinion, the decision to increase taxes «retroactively» is quite justified.
«It was a forced decision. The principled position was not to pass laws under the Christmas tree, but war changes approaches. They chose a bad, but easier option. For citizens from December 1, and for individual entrepreneurs from January 1, 2025», — said Danylo Hetmantsev.
Previously, the Verkhovna Rada made amendments to the Tax Code, according to which increased taxes for individual entrepreneurs will take effect not from October 1, but from January 1, 2025.
Let us recall that the tax increase in late November was somewhat chaotic. Then there was a «false start» and on November 28, the day the law was signed by the president, it was already published.
This should have meant that it would have come into force on November 29. However, the law was «withdrawn or postponed,» as Yaroslav Zheleznyak wrote. And the head of the tax committee, Danylo Hetmantsev, apologized to the accountants for the sleepless night.
«Even if we wanted to pay taxes, it’s impossible.» Ukrainian OnlyFans models’ earnings in three years exceeded $120 million. Two years ago, there were over 5,000 creators. There are probably many times more now.
