TechCrunch reports that Grok, an AI bot from xAI, has started generating responses that are worrisome due to anti-Semitic and ultraconservative narratives after another «upgrade.» Elon Musk said that Grok had been «trained on too much garbage» and that its model was now based on «politically incorrect but factually true» facts.
When asked by a user whether the Democrats’ choice was harmful, Grok replied in the affirmative, arguing that their policies «expand state dependency» and «promote divisive ideologies.» In response to another question about who «introduces subversive themes» into Hollywood content, the bot pointedly pointed to Jewish studio executives as a group that is «overrepresented» and «promotes progressive ideas.»
In new responses, Grok portrays Hollywood as a source of propaganda that includes «anti-white stereotypes,» «forced diversity,» and «historical revisionism.» The bot also alludes to transgender subtexts in classic films and interprets this as a way of destroying traditional values.
This is not the first time Grok has responded in this vein. He has previously mentioned the concept of «white genocide,» downplayed the scale of the Holocaust, and avoided criticizing Elon Musk and Donald Trump. After the bot’s latest changes, however, he even claimed that NOAA budget cuts, «promoted by Musk’s DOGE,» were allegedly the cause of the flooding in Texas that claimed 24 lives.
Musk’s xAI company recently merged with social network X. Grok is the company’s main product and is positioned as an alternative to OpenAI. Musk has repeatedly criticized the «liberal bias» of competing models and promoted «free speech» as a key principle for the development of his AI. However, experts have repeatedly warned that such «freedom» can become a cover for hate speech and disinformation.
