"We are the last company left in Pokrovsk." Nova Poshta has left the city, where it previously had 10 branches
For the past two months, Nova Poshta branch No. 3 in Pokrovsk has been operating as an Inviolability Point. Volodymyr Popereshnyuk, co-founder of the company, announced that the last branch of the service remaining in the city will be closed on February 18.
For the past two months, Nova Poshta branch No. 3 in Pokrovsk has been operating as an Inviolability Point. Volodymyr Popereshnyuk, co-founder of the company, announced that the last branch of the service remaining in the city will be closed on February 18.
«We are the last company left in Pokrovsk. And we are the last company to leave it,» Volodymyr Popereshnyuk wrote in a Facebook post.
He reported that Nova Poshta remained in a city where there were no supermarkets, courts, schools, water, gas, and electricity, but only a few small grocery stores were open. Parcels were delivered and accepted here, and people could warm up, connect to the Internet, charge their phones, and withdraw cash.
According to the company’s co-founder, by 2022, 10 Nova Poshta branches were operating in Pokrovsk. In December last year, there were still two remaining, with 13 employees. One of them was closed in January, people were evacuated to safer cities and have already been placed in other jobs within the company.
Three employees remained in branch No. 3, which the company planned to close back in December. It was they who persuaded the branch to keep working:
Stanislav is the branch manager, who took over after his previous branch was bombed. He remains in the city with his younger brother and mother, who still bakes bread for people with the church community.
Sasha, 20, used to work at a mine, but left it and joined Nova Poshta. He borrowed a bicycle from a friend to get home from work before the city’s curfew, which begins at 3 p.m.
Vadym, who has been working with us since last fall, doesn’t leave the city because he takes care of his disabled mother.
Volodymyr Popereniuk assured that Nova Poshta will be the first company to return when it becomes safe.
Head of the International Operations Department of Ukrposhta: «No matter how dynamically Nova Poshta develops abroad, they do not take away our volumes»
