The Armed Forces of Ukraine received robotic "Donkeys" that can carry up to 200 kg of payload or radio masts

In the winter of 2025, Russian support units began using pack donkeys in their logistics. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense also allowed the Armed Forces to use «Donkeys» — tracked robotic complexes with electric motors that can perform evacuation and mine-laying tasks.

The Ministry of Defense codified and approved for operation in units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the Visluk ground robotic complex, which is manufactured by the Ukrainian company Robotic Systems.

«From now on, our NRC „Vislyuk“ has an official code according to NATO classification. This means that the complex is in the database of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and is ready for state procurement. We hope that in the near future even more Vislyuks will be able to perform their combat missions and save lives!», the developers reported .

It is noted that the NRC «Vislyuk» was manufactured by a team of Ukrainian engineers at the request of the military. The platform has compact dimensions, fits into the body of a minibus or a trailer-carriage. It is equipped with two silent 4 kW electric motors and metal tracks, which provide high cross-country ability over difficult terrain.

Thanks to this, the Ukrainian «Vislyuk» confidently moves off-road, sand, swamps and has a ground clearance of 150 mm. At the same time, the robot can transport up to 200 kg of payload. The traction force of the electric motors can also provide evacuation functions. It is enough to pull out an SUV that is stuck in a swamp.

According to the developers, the maximum range of the platform without a ground station is 0.3 km (5 km optional). The tactical radius of the NRC is 0.3 km (1.5 km optional). The «Vislyuk» has a range of 16 km on hard surfaces and 12 km off-road.

It is manufactured in various modifications — for performing tasks in logistics, evacuation, mining, and installation of engineering barriers. The Robotic Systems website also lists a modification with a radio repeater mast from 6 to 9 meters.

In addition, the «Vislyuk» has reliable control channels and can be equipped with a fiber optic module. Last fall, it was noted that the cost of the platform in the basic configuration is 380,000 UAH.

In February of this year, the publication «Military» noted that some Russian military units began to receive live donkeys as means of transport. This decision was probably due to the shortage of vehicles and unmanned ground platforms that can perform logistical tasks.
