The founder of the American-Ukrainian venture fund Oppenheimer Acceleration, Oleksandr Soroka, announced an investment in the Ukrainian company Scopa Industries. It has created an engine that can accelerate UAVs to over 500 km/h.
"Our Oppenheimer Acceleration Fund has made a new investment in Scopa Industries. This is a Ukrainian aerospace startup that has begun production of a self-starting jet engine that provides a rocket flight of up to 250 km," Soroka wrote on Facebook.
In early September, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced that the startup Scopa Industries received a grant from the Brave1 cluster for the development of military technologies in Ukraine, which allowed it to begin production of a jet engine with auto-start, which provides a rocket flight of 250 km.
"As the minister stated, the engine is distinguished by its simplicity of design, reliability, and speed of manufacture. The manufacturer is already supplying it to other Ukrainian developers of missile systems," said Oleksandr Soroka.
Scopa Industries is a Ukrainian aerospace startup specializing in high-speed jet systems and anti-UAV technologies. The company's website states that it has created an engine capable of accelerating a drone to over 500 km/h. It is already being used in interceptor drones and tactical UAVs.
“Our team of engineers, military experts and aviation specialists is creating a new generation of jet engines and unmanned solutions for military and tactical applications. We work closely with defense organizations, research institutes and industrial partners to turn our innovations into real solutions for combat,” Scopa Industries notes.
Recall that Oppenheimer Acceleration has already funded Ukrainian startups Bavovna.AI, Swarmer, and PanoptesAI , as well as American MARA and Sierra.
