The discovery was reported by military analyst, engineer and radio technology specialist Sergey «Flash» Beskrestnov on his Facebook page. According to him, on the new version of the Shahed «B» series, antenna modules are located on the edges of the wings. Cameras and modems, unlike the «Geranium» drones, are difficult to detect: they often break and burn during a fall.

Back in July, an expert warned that Shahed could gain online control capabilities, and now the prediction has been confirmed. Beskrestnov noted that the transition from fully programmed routes to remote control will make these drones significantly more dangerous: the operator will be able to change course during flight and attack dynamic targets.
The appearance of such a modification means a serious challenge for the Ukrainian air defense. The radio-controlled Shahed actually combine the functions of a strike and reconnaissance aircraft: they are able not only to strike, but also to adjust their own attack in real time. This increases their effectiveness against moving equipment and complicates the task of countering it.
Recall, earlier Taras Chmut said that this Shahed became the most effective in its class due to the simplicity of production and constant modernization.
