Djinni named the IT specialties with the highest and lowest chances of hiring in 2026: Data Science, C++, Python, and QA juntas are in the lead
Job search platform Djinni has summarized the hiring of candidates within three months of opening contacts. The study covers the period from previous years (2023–2024) to the current state of the market (2025 and the first half of 2026) and shows how candidates' chances have changed depending on category, experience and location.
Job search platform Djinni has summarized the hiring of candidates within three months of opening contacts. The study covers the period from previous years (2023–2024) to the current state of the market (2025 and the first half of 2026) and shows how candidates' chances have changed depending on category, experience and location.
The Djinni team noted that the chance of being hired is calculated as the ratio of the number of hires to the number of active candidates on the platform.
Categories with the highest and lowest demand
Over the past few years, the following specialties have demonstrated the highest relative chances of receiving an offer compared to the market average:
Lead Generation — 1.97 times higher than average;
C++ — 1.84 times higher;
Data Science — 1.68 times higher;
Business Analyst — 1.55 times higher;
SEO (×1.48), DevOps (×1.37), Python (×1.36) and QA (×1.32).
Instead, the lowest hiring success rates were recorded among the categories Head Chief (0.44 from the average), HR (×0.56), Artist (×0.62), Unity (×0.68), Design (×0.70), Lead (×0.74), JavaScript (×0.76), iOS (×0.77), and Marketing (×0.79).
The hiring rates for juniors with zero to two years of experience show positive dynamics: their chance of getting a job increased from ×0.79 to ×1.09 of the market average. Formally, beginners have become the group with the best statistical chances of employment. However, Djinni emphasizes that this is explained not so much by a sharp surge in demand for inexperienced specialists, but by a more significant drop in the indicators for seniors and middle managers.
At the same time, some specializations for beginners have seen a significant improvement in their positions. In particular, in the QA category, the chances of hiring for juniors have increased sharply from ×0.73 to ×1.58. The main factor behind this jump was a 12% reduction in the number of candidates themselves, which reduced competition within the direction.
At the same time, purely technical categories demonstrate a steady positive trend. The chances of hiring increased for C++ developers (from ×1.26 to ×1.84) and Python (from ×1.11 to ×1.36), as well as for Data Science specialists (from ×1.41 to ×1.68). The situation is especially indicative in the field of Data Science, where the number of candidates increased by 68%, but the chances of employment still continued to grow. This indicates that the market demand for specialists in artificial intelligence and data analysis is increasing faster than new personnel appear.
Where has the situation worsened?
In contrast to the growth in technical fields, non-technical areas have recorded a significant drop in hiring rates. Sales, Marketing, and Product Manager categories have seen a significant influx of specialists — the number of candidates has increased by 40–60%. Such high competition against the background of a limited number of vacancies has led to a noticeable decrease in employment chances for these specialists.
The mobile development sector (iOS and Android) also saw a significant decline. While the number of candidates in this segment remained at the previous level, demand from employers plummeted. The hiring odds for iOS developers fell from ×1.04 to ×0.77 of the market average, and for Android specialists — from ×1.24 to ×0.88.
A separate challenge for the market was the deterioration of the position of experienced specialists. The chances of employment for candidates with 3–6 years and 7+ years of experience decreased from ×1.14 to ×0.98 and ×0.92, respectively. The main reason is market oversaturation: the number of Senior-level candidates increased from 28 thousand in 2024 to 39 thousand in 2025, and in the first six months of 2026 alone it reached 33 thousand people.
Djinni analysts also note that the higher statistical chances of those who search for a job for longer are explained purely by the time factor (more time to receive an offer), and not by the fact that a long search increases the attractiveness of the candidate.
