«If you work on the Upwork freelance exchange with hourly pay, don’t forget to make notes for the working week, because if the client runs out of funds, you won’t be covered by their protection and you could be left with nothing,» the freelancer explains .
Here are 9 conditions to be eligible for hourly pay protection. You must:
Have an hourly contract.
Have a badge with identification.
Work with a client who uses a proven billing method.
To ensure that the Upwork account has a good reputation.
Log your hours using the Upwork desktop app.
Have activity in the work diary related to the contract.
Update your work journal with notes or tags that describe the work you have completed.
Maintain an adequate and fair level of activity.
Do not exceed the weekly limit under the contract.
Important! You can only add, edit, and delete times in the current week’s diary. The previous week’s diary can no longer be edited after Monday noon GMT.
Yevhen added that, of course, all the rules are on the official website. «But the point about notes is the most insidious. Without them, your tracker data is unreliable, but to return the funds to the client, the data is reliable,» the freelancer notes.
