On March 7, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the action plan for 2025, which is the final one in the «Cybersecurity Strategy of Ukraine» developed by specialists of the State Service for Special Communications for 2021-2025.
According to the document, a number of measures should be taken during the year to strengthen Ukraine’s cybersecurity, the website of the State Service for Special Communications reported, in particular in the following areas:
The State Budget for 2025 provides UAH 468.8 million for various performers to implement the measures provided for in the «Cybersecurity Strategy». Earlier in February, the National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Electronic Communications, Radio Frequency Spectrum and Postal Services (NCEC) approved a draft resolution of the parliament, which lists the costs of informatization by various state structures. It was reported that UAH 482,473 million is planned to be allocated for cybersecurity.
According to the results of the evaluation of the implementation of the «Strategy», conducted in January of this year, only 63% of the intended goals have been achieved.
The State Service for Special Communications reported that earlier, within the framework of the implementation of the «Cybersecurity Strategy of Ukraine»:
By decree of the President of Ukraine dated August 26, 2021, the «Cybersecurity Strategy» of Ukraine for 2021-2025 was approved, which defines the priorities, goals and objectives of ensuring Ukraine’s cybersecurity.
In December 2021, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine adopted a decision «On the Implementation Plan of the Cybersecurity Strategy of Ukraine», which was put into effect by the Presidential Decree of February 1, 2022. The document provides for the annual approval of a set of measures to ensure cybersecurity with indicators of their implementation. In particular, the strategic objectives of the State Service for Special Communications are also defined.
