German police have detained two Turkish citizens suspected of setting fire to a Starlink satellite ground station near Warsaw. Polish authorities are describing the incident as sabotage as part of hybrid warfare.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, in a post on the social network X (formerly Twitter), announced the arrest and assured that those responsible for the crime would appear before a Polish court.
At the same time, Polish officials point to the direct involvement of the Russian Federation in this case. During a joint press conference of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Internal Security Agency, Minister-Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak accused Russia of setting fire to the Starlink infrastructure. He noted that in order to organize such attacks, the special services of the aggressor country recruit perpetrators from among criminals.
"We have no doubt that Russian services are behind this act of sabotage. Increasingly, Russian services are turning to people connected to the criminal world. We have excellent police, officers of the Internal Security Agency, who can effectively detect and resolve any such case," said Semyonyak.
Recall that the ground infrastructure and Starlink terminals are critically important for ensuring communications in Ukraine. Poland itself remains one of the main logistical and transit routes for the supply of Western military and technological assistance. Recently, European intelligence services have increasingly recorded attempts at Russian sabotage at strategic facilities in EU countries.
