According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the month a series of strikes were carried out on a complex of hangar buildings within the training ground in the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation. The report notes that it is there that pre-launch preparation of medium-range ballistic missiles takes place.
The General Staff specifies that long-range strike weapons of Ukrainian production were used for the destruction, in particular the FP-5 «Flamingo». According to available information, some of the buildings on the territory of the training ground received damage of varying degrees, one hangar was significantly damaged, and some of the personnel were evacuated.
The report does not provide other details about the scale of the damage or the consequences of the strikes.
Hangars and auxiliary buildings at missile ranges are typically used for pre-launch work, maintenance, and equipment storage. If such facilities are out of service, it can complicate preparatory processes — even without strikes on launch sites.
