Taras Kytsmey, SoftServe: "I would like the state to look at business as a public asset. But it looks at business only as an opportunity to receive taxes"

Co-founder and member of the board of directors of SoftServe Taras Kytsmey believes that the Ukrainian state must change its attitude towards business.
Kitsmey said this during the Kyiv International Economic Forum, a dev.ua correspondent reports.
«I would really like, when we cooperate with the state, for the state to look at business as a public good. Right now, it looks at business only as an opportunity to receive taxes. And for the sake of several thousand in taxes, a large number of people were deprived of jobs and necessary services,» he expressed his opinion.
According to Taras Kytsmey, business is more than private property, because it creates jobs, employs people, pays taxes, and also «has a huge corporate social responsibility.»
The co-founder of SoftServe believes that when the state imposes too strict sanctions against business, it makes things worse for itself.
«Do you think you punished the businessman? No, you punished yourself,» the head of the IT company concludes.
Taras Kytsmey is convinced that this attitude of the authorities towards business is based on public opinion, which, on the one hand, has absorbed a negative attitude towards business as a legacy of the Soviet Union, and on the other, has formed a negative image of businessmen of the «epoch of privatization.»
«In Colombia, SoftServe, a Ukrainian company, is treated better than an American one.» Taras Kytsmey told how the company’s office in Latin America works
