«They gave me a test for the position of огтшщк to make a full-fledged website, is that normal? Who else had this? For some reason, I thought that the test shouldn’t be too big», — Dmytriv wrote in his post.
He also clarified that this is a site redesign and added that it is essentially «one big landing».
Many IT professionals commented on his post, expressing the opinion that a test task of this size is not very typical for a June, and that such a large volume should be paid for.
«As part of the test, you can develop a concept or a specific block or main screen. And in general, you need to set a price for such a test,» noted business analyst Yaroslav Zozulya.
«It’s a fact, big jobs should be paid for at least so that you can drink coffee. But I understand, you’re not a pro, so if you have the time and desire, set aside a week and do it, design it beautifully and don’t f*ck your brains in vain with the question „to do or not to do it?“, at least practice and work in a portfolio on Behance. It’s definitely unnecessary to be lazy,» says Frontend Engineer Ilya Pashchuk.

When I did the test, I did the maximum that I was asked to do for free as a UI designer — change the color scheme of the site. Some noted that such a test could be an attempt to screen out some candidates.
