The Kyiv District Court of Poltava is considering a fraud case in which a test taker «fell» for a fake employer and eventually became a borrower of seven microloans at once. We tell you the details.
According to the case materials, on April 17, the investigating judge of the court appealed to the Poltava Regional Unit of the Main Police Department for temporary access to items and documents that contain a secret protected by law and appear in the case.
The fact is that on March 18, the tester, who is the victim in the case, became a victim of fraudsters who, using her personal data (passport, TIN, and mobile phone), took possession of funds from credit unions and financial institutions in Ukraine in the amount of UAH 74,897.
The victim said that in January, she saw an ad for a website tester in one of the Telegram channels and decided to give it a try. She wrote to the man who posted the ad, to which he said that the candidate needed to take a photo with her passport and send it to him, which the woman did.
Later, the man explained to the candidate what she needed to do and provided several websites for testing. After working for about two weeks in the above-mentioned position, the tester decided to quit because she did not receive the promised salary.
On March 13, 2025, she received a message on the Viber messenger from a representative of one of the microcredit institutions that she had a debt on a loan. The woman replied that she had not taken any loans. On the same day, her mother received a call from another credit institution and was informed that she also had a debt there. This is how the woman learned that loans had been issued in her name in 7 microfinance institutions for a total amount of UAH 74,897. That is why the investigating judge needs access to financial documents.
The court granted the motion, obliging the organizations involved in the case to provide the requested data. dev. will monitor the development of events.
