Uklon appointed Elena Orlova to manage the travel business and, at the same time, separated this business into a separate structural unit within the new company structure.
According to a Uklon press release, the company appointed Elena Orlova as Chief Ride-hailing Officer in February. This decision was part of the transition to a platform model, within which the business is divided into separate units with their own responsibility for financial results.
In her new position, Orlova will be responsible for developing the travel service in the B2C and B2B segments. This is the company’s main business area, which now actually functions as a separate product with its own team. She will work under the leadership of Chief Operating Officer Vadym Ishchenko and coordinate more than 90 specialists.
«For me, this is an exciting challenge and, at the same time, a natural continuation of my professional development at Uklon. Leading a key area of our business during the further development of Uklon as an ecosystem of products and solutions,» notes Olena Orlova.
Orlova has been working at Uklon since 2019. She joined the company as Head of CRM, and later headed marketing as Chief Marketing Officer. Before that, she worked with METRO, Platinum Bank, and Solar Home. Her experience is related to building marketing strategies, data analytics, and brand development.
The transition to the new role comes amid a change in the company’s management approach. Uklon is moving from a centralized structure to a model with separate business areas that have their own teams, goals, and accountability for results. This format allows for faster product scaling and adaptation to different market segments.
The ride-hailing service remains a key source of revenue for Uklon, so separating this area into a separate unit seems like a logical step in the development of the service. The company is actually building an ecosystem of products around mobility, where each area develops as an independent business with its own strategy.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how on March 25, the Ukrainian ride-hailing service Uklon launched a beta version of the Uklon Travel service, which allows you to book tickets for intercity and international bus flights directly in the mobile application — without switching to third-party services.
