Ukrainian demining technology developer UADamage has raised funding from international investors Ondas Capital and Pravo Ventures. The funds will be used to improve artificial intelligence that analyzes data from drones to search for explosive objects, and to prepare for entering the global market.

The company officially announced the deal in a press release on November 4. The investment amount is not disclosed at this time, but it is noted that the partners will also provide the startup with access to their strategic networks in the US and global defense sectors.

UADamage develops software that combines data from various sensors, artificial intelligence algorithms, and geospatial analytics to detect mines and unexploded ordnance. The system automatically processes drone imagery, identifies surface and underground threats, and then creates accurate digital risk maps. This allows sappers to plan safe routes and assess contaminated areas without the need for prior manual surveying.

The technology has been operating in real-world conditions in Ukraine for over three years. During this time, the developers have supported over 40 demining and land assessment missions. In addition to pinpointing explosives, the startup is expanding the functionality of its own GRIT platform, which helps government agencies and operators prioritize land clearance based on economic and security factors.

The company will use the funds raised from the funds to strengthen the team in Ukraine, scale software development, and train operators. The next stage will be to search for institutional partners for international expansion.

“UADamage was created around a problem we saw firsthand in Ukraine: the need to detect hidden threats before they take lives and hinder the recovery of communities. Our experience has allowed us to create technologies that combine advanced sensors and artificial intelligence to make operators work safer,” explained the startup’s founder and CEO, Vitaliy Lopushansky.

For their part, investor representatives emphasize the global potential of the Ukrainian development. According to Hans Braunfish, general partner of Pravo Ventures, the system solves both urgent needs on the battlefield and one of the most important challenges of the future reconstruction of the country, as mine warfare has once again become crucial in the world.

Earlier, in an interview with dev.ua, Vitaliy Lopushansky noted that for the first year, the project lived on the personal resources of the Lopushansky family. Then, UADamage began to attract various donors, in particular, they attracted a small investment from agricultural holdings.
