Ukrainian Farsight Vision integrated its software into Mara and Besomar drones to supply "photo drones" to the military
Farsight Vision has agreed to directly integrate its software with reconnaissance drone manufacturers Mara Drone and Besomar. Now, the “photo drones” can be supplied to units with an already installed aerial imagery processing and terrain analysis system, without separate retrofitting on site.
Farsight Vision has agreed to directly integrate its software with reconnaissance drone manufacturers Mara Drone and Besomar. Now, the “photo drones” can be supplied to units with an already installed aerial imagery processing and terrain analysis system, without separate retrofitting on site.
Farsight Vision co-founder and CEO Viktoriya Yaremchuk spoke about the Defender Media partnership. She noted that the interaction with Mara Drone lasted about a year, but became official at the end of 2025. Previously, the company worked directly with divisions that already had drones, but now the product is being formed "turnkey" - with the software part included.
Farsight Vision explains the choice of Mara by the fact that these drones are widely used on the front. During 2025, the parties tested the integration, and in the end they received a ready-made version, namely Mara with built-in software that processes aerial photos and helps to analyze the situation faster. According to the company, such kits are already being used by individual units.
The monetization model is divided: Mara Drone is responsible for the hardware implementation, and Farsight Vision receives a share for the software component. In parallel, the teams are working on functions for flights in conditions of GPS problems: in particular, on orientation based on created terrain images without satellite navigation and on a new flight planning system that takes into account data from previous missions.
Another separate direction is cooperation with Besomar: in this case, the emphasis is on automatically creating maps and 3D models of the terrain directly during the flight.
Moving from “drone-only, software-only” to factory integration means that departments receive a ready-made reconnaissance and mapping tool without additional on-site setup. This is important when the bill is in hours, not weeks.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how Ukrainian startup OSIRIS AI received money from a foreign investor to develop DroneOS: an operating system that makes drones more autonomous.
