Ukrainian Twist Robotics presented the "Obriy Antishahid" simulator for training interceptor drones

Twist Robotics has updated its Horizon platform and focused it on training crews who are to practice intercepting long-range strike drones. The new version of the simulator simulates the full cycle of small air defense: from target detection to the decision to destroy it.
According to Military, the company presented a version of the «Obriy Antishahid» designed specifically for training scenarios to combat long-range drones. Twist Robotics reported that they began developing this direction in the summer of 2024, and during 2025, they managed to scale the solution to small air defense units.
The key element of the update was the radar module, which simulates the operation of radars at a distance of up to 25 km. The simulator reproduces not only the flight of the target, but also full combat work: its detection, tracking on the tactical map, crew coordination and choosing the moment for interception. The platform also allows you to train the interaction of the operator and navigator using models of the Octopus and Sting interceptors.
To bring the training closer to real conditions, the scenario added factors that the military faces at the front: the presence of infantry, armored vehicles, the impact of electronic warfare, as well as the features of the terrain and communications. In total, the system has more than 50,000 km² of real front areas recreated based on satellite data. This allows using «Obriy» not only as a simulator, but also as a virtual training ground for testing new navigation algorithms.
The company says that training on the simulator has already had practical results: there have been cases when operators shot down real Shaheds during their first combat duty after a two-week course of virtual training.
Currently, the platform is used free of charge by over 150 combat units and 50 training centers of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Twist Robotics positions «Obriy Antishahid» as a tool that allows you to practice complex and expensive scenarios without the risk of losing equipment and prototypes.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how Ukrainian startup FPV Battleground created a combat FPV drone simulator, which has already been sold over 10,000 times on Steam, with about half of the users being from outside Ukraine.
