As reported by «Military», the new tool is intended for crews and technical specialists working with modifications of the «Sabre Mk 19(M)» and «Sabre M2». The assistant should speed up diagnostics and repairs directly in the field, when there is no time to look for the necessary manual, diagrams or video instructions on various media.
The service works as an interactive knowledge base with search: a soldier can ask about a specific node, setting or symptom of a malfunction and receive a structured answer. The materials include references on working with the Browning M2 machine gun and the Mk 19 automatic grenade launcher, as well as step-by-step instructions for typical «field» problems: what to check first, what actions to perform in turn, what to pay attention to during the test after repair. Separately, the developers emphasize that the assistant uses only verified data collected from official documentation and video instructions from the manufacturer to reduce the risk of erroneous advice.
According to the partners, a similar AI service has previously been used to diagnose and repair Western armored vehicles, including the HMMWV and MaxxPro. Currently, the solution for the Chablis is available via a web interface, so a network connection is required. The next step, which Roboneers and NeoLens are talking about, is a mobile application with a full offline mode, so that the instructions work where the Internet is absent or is jammed by electronic warfare equipment.
Remote turrets are valued by units because they allow the operator to operate from cover, reducing risks to the crew. However, such systems are difficult to maintain, and rapid return of the module to service often depends on access to precise instructions and the correct sequence of field checks.
