Ukrainian developers are testing AI that reads Russian sources and filters data for intelligence
Artificial intelligence for military analytics based on open sources is being developed by the Boryviter Center of Excellence. The new ODCR Assistant neural network is able to sift through the Russian information space, highlighting publications that may be of intelligence interest.
Artificial intelligence for military analytics based on open sources is being developed by the Boryviter Center of Excellence. The new ODCR Assistant neural network is able to sift through the Russian information space, highlighting publications that may be of intelligence interest.
This was reported by «Military», referring to an interview with Pavel Musienko, head of the analytical department of «Boryvitr». According to the specialist, the new system is being tested on non-secret data streams and is capable of reviewing up to a thousand messages daily: from blogs and forums to publications by technical specialists and the Russian military.
The abbreviation ODCR stands for four steps of experience recording: Observation, Discussion, Conclusion, Recommendation. At the first stage, AI is already able to sort by keywords: if «green» markers are detected (such as mention of new types of weapons), the data is transferred for analysis; if there are «red» triggers (such as memes or floods), they are filtered out.
The next step should be in-depth content analysis, with novelty identification and automatic data structuring. However, for now, human participation is still necessary. The system does not work with closed channels, only with OSINT sources.
In parallel, Boryviter is creating another language model, similar to ChatGPT, but tailored to military experience. It will help military personnel analyze events, formulate conclusions, and improve tactics.
The project faces typical challenges, namely the lack of powerful equipment for processing large amounts of data. Currently, all development is being conducted in-house. The team is open to support as long as it is aimed solely at strengthening defense capabilities and remains outside of commercial interests.
The Boryviter Center specializes in processing combat experience, creating training solutions and tactical tools for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Its initiatives have repeatedly formed the basis of digital solutions in the security sector.
We would like to remind you that we also published an article about how over 50 Ukrainian IT specialists in Kyiv joined forces at the AI Data Jam hackathon to teach artificial intelligence to recognize explosive objects in aerial photographs.
Як нейромережі бачать вільну та незалежну Україну? Тест dev.ua
