Ukrainian strike drone "UD-10" codified for the army: flies 29 km without losing video communication
The new domestic strike unmanned aerial vehicle complex «UD-10» from Aero Center has officially passed the codification of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and has been approved for operation in the Defense Forces. This paves the way for large-scale serial production and use at the front.
The new domestic strike unmanned aerial vehicle complex «UD-10» from Aero Center has officially passed the codification of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and has been approved for operation in the Defense Forces. This paves the way for large-scale serial production and use at the front.
This was reported by the manufacturing company in a comment to «Military». The «UD-10» complex is a system consisting of FPV kamikaze drones with 10-inch propellers, a ground control station and equipment for communication and video transmission. The drone is designed for pinpoint destruction of enemy manpower and equipment, has exceptional maneuverability and ease of launch, and it takes only 5.5 minutes to prepare for a combat flight.
The combat load that the device can carry is up to 3.5 kg. At the same time, the flight range depends on the mass of the charge: with 2.5 kg, the drone covers up to 15 km, with a maximum weight of 11 kg. During tests, the complex showed a maximum speed of 149 km/h, cruising is 67 km/h.
According to the manufacturer, the drones can be equipped with digital video communication, multiple cameras to increase guidance accuracy, as well as a 10 km long fiber optic coil, which has also been codified.
Aero Center pays special attention to signal stability: while using the complex in the Pokrovsky direction, the operators of the Unmanned Systems Forces were able to fly the drone 29 km without losing the image. The fighters noted that this exceeds the technical capabilities of most analogues currently in service.
According to the manufacturer, the UD-10 has been actively used at the front since 2024, but official codification will allow for its larger-scale supply to units and integration into the logistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
We also published an article about how Ukraine is testing a new digital drone procurement system, DOT-Chain Defence. Already, 11 domestic companies have signed contracts with the Ministry of Defense through the Defense Procurement Agency, and combat brigades have been able to order drones directly.
