On December 20, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution «On the implementation of a pilot project on the provision of certain public services and the performance of certain consular actions upon applications of persons residing outside Ukraine submitted through the Unified State Web Portal of Electronic Services and/or the e-Consul information and communication system.»
From now on, Ukrainian citizens abroad, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will receive new opportunities:
ID card issuance with delivery of the finished card by mail (only one visit to the embassy or consulate is required to submit documents);
Issuance of international passports in one visit for collection of biometric data with subsequent receipt of the finished document by mail;
Registration in the State Register of Taxpayers through embassies and consulates;
Exchanging a driver’s license or obtaining it after loss or theft;
A comprehensive service for registering newborns, which includes: state registration of the child’s birth (issuance of a birth certificate); registration of the child as a citizen of Ukraine; entry of the child into the Unified State Demographic Register (assignment of a UNZR); registration of the child in the State Register of Taxpayers.
From now on, applications for the provision of services can be submitted through the portal or the «Diya» mobile application.
Recall, from November 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched an ambitious project to modernize consular information systems, which will allow, with the help of international technical assistance, to automate business processes and increase the efficiency of consular institutions. The Cabinet of Ministers adopted the resolution on the information and communication system «e-Consul» on August 22. At that time, the deadlines were set that the information and communication system «e-Consul» would be available this year.
