Head of Passenger Communications at Ukrzaliznytsia Oleksandr Shevchenko told which services the carrier’s IT team has already managed to restore. It also became known that UZ will receive 50 million euros for integration with the European transport network.
Earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia announced that online services had moved to a new platform, where IT specialists had built protection and were actively restoring additional functionality. Chairman of the Board of UZ Oleksandr Pertsovsky noted that in the future they would gradually restore various functions: monitoring, online scoreboard, integration with databases of beneficiaries and «Armia+», ordering group transportation, a bonus program, and much more.
Head of Passenger Communications at Ukrzaliznytsia Oleksandr Shevchenko told which services have already been returned to the application:
discounted tickets for students;
discounted tickets for people with disabilities;
online scoreboard of all key stations.
«Verification with Diia.Pidpys, monitoring with auto-buyout, benefits for students and return of hugs — in active work!», — noted Shevchenko.
It also became known that Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery — Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba signed a document that allows Ukrzaliznytsia to transfer 50 million euros from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to modernize key railway crossing points on the border with Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania.
It is noted that the last tranche of EIB financing, agreed in 2016, amounting to €150 million, is aimed at modernizing Ukrainian railways. The first tranche of €100 million was transferred to Ukrzaliznytsia in 2022 as part of the «EIB emergency response to support Ukraine». At that time, these funds were directed to emergency repairs and restoration of essential railway services.
€50 million will be allocated to joint projects with the EU, including the development of border infrastructure and the modernization of railway crossing points. This will strengthen Ukraine’s integration with the European transport network and increase throughput in the western direction and reduce border crossing times.
Cyberattack on Ukrzaliznytsia: all computer equipment of the staff is being quarantined — checked for malicious software. Unloaded specialists will be sent to idle
