Justice Minister Olga Stefanishyna said that law enforcement officers have identified those responsible for the Russian cyberattack on state registers.
«I want to draw attention to the fact that this was a Russian cyberattack. This was not a failure related to the activities of the relevant registry administrators,» writes Ukrinform, referring to Stefanishyna’s statement, which she made during the forum «State Registers of the Ministry of Justice: Strategic Importance, Security, and Development.»
According to the minister, all relevant materials for the criminal proceedings that have now been initiated have been sent to law enforcement agencies, in particular, the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Special Communications Service were called in. In addition, the Ministry of Justice, the State Security Service of Ukraine for the Investigation of Information and Communications, and all relevant structures provided law enforcement agencies with access to the necessary materials.
Stefanishyna emphasized that today there is an understanding of what led to the cyberattack, how it was possible to carry it out, who will bear responsibility for it in Ukraine, and who exactly on the enemy side was involved in this issue. «This is, once again, a Russian cyberattack,» the minister added.
