According to insider information, a wave of large-scale layoffs awaits the Xbox division in July - the first under the leadership of new head Asha Sharma.
While the exact scope of the changes is currently unknown, the wave of large layoffs will begin immediately after Microsoft's fiscal year ends on June 30. In addition, according to available data, Xbox plans to "significantly" cut its marketing budget, as well as make funding cuts in some other areas, Bloomberg reports .
This comes shortly after Asha Sharma's interview with Bloomberg Tech, in which she openly admitted that the Xbox business is not in the best shape right now. She noted that the company will have to make some changes, but did not mention a single word about restructuring.
At the same time, the Bloomberg article cites an email that Sharma sent to employees, which provides specific revenue figures. It said: "...over this time (the last five years), our annual revenue has decreased by almost half a billion dollars. This cannot continue in the future."
