In Ukraine, a risk of covert placement of technical devices that could be used to enhance communications of Shahed kamikaze drones has been recorded.
This was reported by Sergey Flesh on his Telegram channel. According to him, the Russian side is looking for opportunities to install relay equipment in private households, presumably targeting the elderly or socially vulnerable homeowners.
This involves asking outsiders to place a small box in their yard or house that needs to be connected to the power grid and, if possible, the internet. Such devices can be used to enhance the communications and navigation of strike drones, which directly affects the effectiveness of air strikes.
The author of the message calls on Ukrainians to warn their parents, relatives and neighbors, especially the elderly, about such risks. Any requests from strangers to install technical equipment connected to an outlet or network should arouse suspicion and become a reason for immediate contact with law enforcement agencies or relevant services.
Security experts have repeatedly emphasized that the enemy is actively using hybrid methods, combining technological solutions with the human factor. In such cases, the calculation is not on complex sabotage operations, but on the ignorance or trust of civilians.
Such attempts are disguised as everyday or «technical» requests and do not require the direct participation of the military or specialists. That is why informing the population is considered one of the key ways to counter such threats and reduce risks to civilian infrastructure and the safety of citizens.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how military analyst, engineer, and communications and drone expert Serhiy «Flash» Bezkrestnov proposed to the military an easy and affordable system for alerting the population about the threat from kamikaze drones. The idea is that communities can quickly warn people without expensive complex solutions.
«The enemy is working on increasing the accuracy and range of strikes by the Molniya UAVs,» — military expert from «Flash» on improving the enemy’s technologies
«We can’t find ways to protect our cities from some of the strike UAVs because not all the samples reach us. They sold them for $5,000, then for $10,000.» Military «Flash» said that downed enemy UAVs are being sold en masse as trophies. Why is this a problem
