“The idea came in a dream.” A Lviv developer created Watt — a platform with 2,500 facts that you can not only read, but also take quizzes about
Andriy Rohalya from Lviv launched Watt, a web service with interesting facts, explanations of varying depth, links to sources, and quizzes to test knowledge. Content for the platform is prepared by AI agents, and the developer himself checks the materials before publication.
The project is less than two months old. During this time, Watt has published over 2,500 facts, and about 5,000 more ideas are waiting to be processed.

The project is less than two months old. During this time, Watt has published over 2,500 facts, and about 5,000 more ideas are waiting to be processed.
How Watt works
Watt’s idea came to Rogala in a dream. He wanted to create a place where you could find surprising but factual things and then test how well you understood them.
The key feature of the platform is a system of AI agents that search for facts, collect evidence, and prepare materials. For each fact, explanations of varying depth are provided: for children, adults, and experts. They are also used to create quizzes with questions that should encourage not only recalling what you read, but also thinking.
Individual agents turn facts into short videos in Reels and Shorts formats.
The system uses official sources, Wikipedia, and other resources to verify information. However, materials are not published automatically: they first reach the developer himself, who analyzes them, checks them, and, if necessary, refines them.
Facts, voiceovers and point competitions
In Watt, you can choose topics based on your interests, read or listen to facts, change the level of explanation, view sources, and take quizzes. For correct answers, users receive points and can compete on the leaderboard.
The platform operates in Ukrainian and English. Examples of content include a material on the properties of spider silk with illustrations, voice-overs, and links to sources, as well as a quiz on why the footprints of Apollo 11 astronauts can remain on the Moon for a very long time.
Rogalya says that he creates Watt primarily for himself: he is interested not only in unusual facts, but also in confirmation of how he knows they are true.
How much does development cost and how will the service make money?
According to the developer, he has already invested about $1,000 of his own money into the project, not including the time spent. The main costs are AI services, in particular for voiceover, and server infrastructure. Currently, the platform costs several hundred dollars per month to support, and as it develops, the costs may increase.
A monetization model has not yet been determined. Rogala is considering advertising and a Duolingo-like approach, but there is no final decision yet.
Watt has had over 250 unique visitors and over 1,000 visits in the last 30 days. Since the service operates as a web platform, the developer is currently evaluating its development by traffic.
What’s next?
Rogala plans to continue expanding the library of facts and develop a community of users who will regularly return to the platform, take quizzes, and compete for points.
Andriy has over 20 years of experience in IT. He has worked with embedded systems, mobile development, cloud and server-side solutions, as well as Web3 and blockchain architecture. In recent years, he has focused on artificial intelligence and agent development.

IT Arena Lviv 2022
