As TechCrunch reports, the new Firefly mobile app lets you create images and videos based on text queries, edit individual parts using generative fill, and convert photos to videos. The app supports not only Adobe models, but also third-party ones, including OpenAI’s GPT, Google’s Imagen 3 and Veo 2, Flux 1.1 Pro, and models from Runway, Ideogram, and Black Forest Labs.
The mobile app features the same functionality as the web version, which was launched in April 2025, but now users can create content directly from their smartphone. Firefly projects are stored in the Adobe Creative Cloud, so they can be edited on a desktop or in a browser. This opens up new possibilities for creators who work on the go or without constant access to a PC.
The updates also affected the Adobe Canvas tool. It now also generates videos using Adobe models and competitor models. Canvas is a collaborative platform where you can co-create visual content.
The company says users have already created more than 24 billion images and videos using Firefly, and new subscribers have grown 30% in the last quarter, largely thanks to AI tools.
