According to Bloomberg, the company is preparing demonstrations of the updated assistant in the second half of February to show the result of the recently announced partnership with Google. After this presentation, Apple, according to the publication, plans to include the new Siri in iOS 26.4: the beta version should start in February, and the public release is expected in March or early April.
The iOS 26.4 update is expected to be the first wave of changes, while the company is preparing the next big step for the summer, according to Bloomberg. At its annual developer conference, Apple plans to show off the new Siri, which is codenamed Campos internally. Expectations for Campos are higher than for a regular voice assistant: the idea is for Siri to behave like a conversational AI chatbot that supports dialogue and responds to requests in the style of modern assistants like ChatGPT.
After the summer launch, Gemini’s core capabilities in the Apple Intelligence ecosystem are set to move into the next cycle of systems: iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27. Bloomberg notes that these platforms are set to receive beta versions in the summer, along with a more integrated Siri, which will be built deeper into the operating systems and receive an updated interface.
Apple announced Apple Intelligence and the promised «next generation» of Siri at WWDC 2024, but the launch of some features has been delayed. The bet on a partnership with Google and phased releases, first through iOS 26.4 and then through iOS 27, should strengthen the company’s position in the competition in the conversational AI assistant market.
