German defense-tech company ARX Robotics has received a new major contract in Ukraine for the supply of GEREON unmanned ground systems. The order involves the formation of the world’s largest fleet of military ground robotics, which will number several hundred machines and operate as a single network.
German defense-tech company ARX Robotics has received a new major contract in Ukraine for the supply of GEREON unmanned ground systems. The order involves the formation of the world’s largest fleet of military ground robotics, which will number several hundred machines and operate as a single network.
According to the ARX Robotics press release, the new contract is the third phase of the expansion of the GEREON fleet, which has been in use in Ukraine since the beginning of the year. All equipment is unified through Mithra OS, an operating system that combines autonomous functions, sensors, and open interfaces and allows for the coordination of a large number of platforms in dynamic combat scenarios. This reduces reaction time, simplifies logistics, and increases the sustainability of ground operations.
The company emphasizes that it is not only about supplying equipment, but also about scaling unmanned ground operations in general. The GEREON network park is planned to be used in various military domains — from logistics and evacuation to reconnaissance and work near the front line, where the risks to personnel are highest.
An important part of the agreement concerns the localization of production. Part of the system assembly is already located at the ARX Robotics plant in Ukraine, and local suppliers and partners are increasing their own capacities. This model combines European and Ukrainian production chains, accelerates deliveries, increases the sustainability of logistics and gradually transfers some of the competencies within the country.
The company emphasizes that the large contract is a «credit of trust» and a signal for further large-scale cooperation between Germany and Ukraine in the field of robotic systems. For the Ukrainian defense industry, this is not only a strengthening of the front here and now, but also an opportunity to develop its own school of engineers and production in the segment of autonomous ground platforms.
ARX Robotics positions itself as one of the leading European developers of unmanned ground vehicles. The company creates the GEREON UGV line and Mithra OS, which integrates artificial intelligence, sensor systems and software-defined autonomy. Its solutions are already used by several European armies, as well as in Ukraine, and are aimed not only at protecting soldiers on the battlefield, but also at strengthening Europe’s strategic autonomy in defense technologies.
