Capterra reopens access for Ukrainian users
Capterra, a software search and comparison platform owned by research firm Gartner, has once again become available to users in Ukraine. Previously, the service was blocked for Ukrainian IP addresses, which created difficulties for local businesses.
Capterra, a software search and comparison platform owned by research firm Gartner, has once again become available to users in Ukraine. Previously, the service was blocked for Ukrainian IP addresses, which created difficulties for local businesses.
According to DOU, the restrictions were first recorded on August 5, 2025. One of the Ukrainian IT entrepreneurs who promotes his products through Capterra said that after contacting the support service, he received an explanation: the blocking was related to the war in Ukraine. The company did not provide an official statement at the time.
The access ban affected not only those who advertise their software on the platform, but also potential customers. Ukrainian companies lost the ability to publish new reviews, update profiles, and view information about competitors. At the same time, reviews and pages created before the ban were preserved.
The site is now back up and running in Ukraine, but without any public comments from Capterra or Gartner. The reasons for the lifting of restrictions are unknown. Company profiles and existing reviews remain unchanged.
Capterra is a popular global platform that helps you find software by category, read independent reviews, and compare prices. For Ukrainian companies, access to this service is important in promoting themselves in international markets, especially in the face of competition with global players.
We previously reported that during the blocking, Ukrainian users could only access the site using a VPN, and the official reason for the restriction was the geopolitical situation.
