Nvidia CEO has begun a major share sale. However, investors have nothing to worry about, as this is a planned transaction as part of a financial strategy for top executives.
As TechRadar reports, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang sold the first 100,000 shares for $14.4 million and plans to gradually sell up to 6 million, for a total of almost $865 million. All this is within the framework of an automated 10b5-1 trading plan, which allows you to determine the sales schedule in advance without the risk of accusations of manipulation. The end date is December 31, 2025.
Nvidia has already warned about the intentions of its executives to sell some of its assets in its financial report. In addition to Huang, the following will also sell shares:
CFO Colette Kress — up to 500,000 pieces (until March 2026),
Board member Brooke Sewell — up to 1,153,049 shares (until July 2025).
Together, these deals could bring them hundreds of millions of dollars, but the market is not pressured by this. Nvidia’s stock price continues to rise: one share costs $144, and its capitalization has exceeded $3.5 trillion. This is the second result in the world after Microsoft.
Nvidia remains the main beneficiary of the global AI boom. The company dominates the market for AI chips, which are used by Google, OpenAI, Meta and other tech giants. In the first quarter of 2025, its revenue grew by 12% compared to the previous quarter and by 69% year-on-year. Huang himself has already sold more than $1.9 billion in Nvidia shares, but remains the face of the company and publicly declares: «AI is the new electricity, and Nvidia is at the center of this transformation.»
