ChatGPT is testing a new “Study Together” mode: now AI doesn’t answer, but asks questions
Some ChatGPT subscribers have a new feature called «Study Together.» It changes the chatbot’s usual behavior: instead of ready-made answers, it asks clarifying questions to help the user learn on their own.
Some ChatGPT subscribers have a new feature called «Study Together.» It changes the chatbot’s usual behavior: instead of ready-made answers, it asks clarifying questions to help the user learn on their own.
As TechCrunch reports, OpenAI has begun a limited testing of the «Study Together» mode for ChatGPT. The tool has appeared in a drop-down list of available features for select users. The company has not officially announced the update yet, and it is unclear whether it will be available to everyone or only to ChatGPT Plus subscribers.
According to users, the new feature is more like interactive learning: the bot doesn’t just answer a query, but tries to engage the person in independent thinking through clarification, counter-questions, and dialogue. Thus, ChatGPT acts as a digital tutor rather than a generator of ready-made answers.
Others suggest that Study Together may include a mode for multiple people to study together within a single chat, although this has not yet been confirmed. There has been no official comment from OpenAI itself regarding the features or launch of the feature.
ChatGPT is widely used in education by both teachers to create lesson plans and students to prepare for exams. At the same time, the AI service is regularly criticized for making cheating easier and assessment more difficult. The new Study Together mode may be an attempt to balance these extremes, making the use of AI more ethical and beneficial for the educational process.
As a reminder, we also recently wrote about how OpenAI is testing new tools for the «deep research» feature in ChatGPT. Among them are connections to Slack, Canva, and Gmail, allowing for deeper analysis of information from work environments.
The Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA) — може мати власні почуття. У червні про це з’явилась стаття у Washington Post.
