CNC router operator Baluta Maryan from Poland made an innovative coffee maker that prepares coffee under very high pressure. How does it work?
About the innovative coffee maker
In his third Kickstarter project, Baluta Maryan presented the innovative Ballsy brew coffee maker. His previous projects were the Car Zen wooden car table and the updated The Sharp knife sharpener.
According to the inventor, good coffee machines work in such a way that the hot water must pass through the coffee under high pressure and not too fast to take away all the flavor of the beans.
He created a coffee maker that resembles a geyser in principle, but Baluta added hundreds of stainless steel balls through which hot water passes to increase the pressure and brewing time.
This coffee pot is made of stainless steel, borosilicate glass and heat-resistant ABS plastic.
Technical characteristics
Bally Brew uses a 58 mm diameter basket. Such parameters, according to the inventor, provide a rich and tasty drink:
The volume of water is 260 ml
The volume of coffee is about 180 ml
The volume of coffee is about 180 ml
Manufacturing process
First, a special cutting press produces stainless steel circles, and then another machine produces a steel cup from a sheet of steel.
The glass used for the coffee maker is tempered in the workshop over an open fire at a very high temperature.
About money
Baluta has already raised $4,058 from 46 backers. His goal was $15,726, which he still has 16 days to reach.
Users asked in the comments if they could get a replacement glass bowl if the existing one suddenly broke. Baluta confirmed that, although the bowl is made of strong borosilicate glass, it can be damaged. In this case, it will be possible to order it for 40% of the cost of the entire block, because the upper part will be assembled completely.
