Kosovan: "I don't want to have the contacts of the Prosecutor General or Hetmantsev in my phone book. In other jurisdictions where we work, I don't know a single official."

CEO of IT company MacPaw Oleksandr Kosovan, during an event dedicated to the 3rd anniversary of "Diya.City", spoke about the difficulties his company faces while working in Ukraine, reports a journalist from dev.ua.

"The reality is that businesses in Ukraine did not grow thanks to the state, but we implemented it ourselves. My main wish is that I do not want to have the contacts of the Prosecutor General, Hetmantsev (head of the Verkhovna Rada tax committee - ed.) and other officials in my phone book. We work all over the world and I do not have contacts of local officials anywhere," the entrepreneur said.

He noted that he would not like to "interfere with the state," but would like to "focus on developing his business."

"It seems to me that if there are fewer states in our lives, everyone will benefit from it," Oleksandr Kosovan concluded.

Recall that in February 2023, searches were carried out in the office of the IT company MacPaw and in the house of its owner Oleksandr Kosovan due to land plots that the company purchased in 2016–2021. We are talking about a plot in the village of Tsibli, Pereyaslavskyi district, Kyiv region.

The company did not rule out that due to imperfections in land legislation and its outdated regulation, some mistakes could have been made by officials. “Therefore, we provide law enforcement with all the requested information and have been conducting a dialogue with local authorities for more than three years to correct these mistakes and be able to create a truly interesting and valuable project in Ukraine,” Kosovan said at the time.

He added that MacPaw has invested tens of millions of dollars in the development of the sites. “They have become interested in officials who are now trying to take away these lands and assets,” Oleksandr emphasizes.

After the searches at MacPaw, the Rada registered the bill "Masks-Show Stop." The Prosecutor General's Office later admitted that there was no urgent need for the searches.
