One of the verticals of development of the mobile operator Kyivstar, in addition to e-commerce or classifieds (bulletin boards) in various industries, was called a large educational platform by the company’s president, Oleksandr Komarov.
«Over the past two years, I have met with three or four owners of educational platforms. We have looked at how they can be scaled, but we have not settled on anything yet,» said Alexander Komarov in an interview with Forbes.
According to the president of Kyivstar, the company has declared a strategy for possible development. In particular, the mobile operator is also interested in Fintech. «We have some limitations, but if we build an ecosystem plan, Fintech can be born organically. You don’t need to perceive this as buying a bank,» he added.
In some verticals, the company does not see attractive candidates, as Oleksandr Komarov notes, in some there are limitations. «We are interested in the synergy of these areas with our telecom business,» he explains.
We would like to remind you that the other day, the largest national electronic communications operator Kyivstar and the IT product company Uklon, which is the developer of an online platform and car ordering application, successfully completed the process of closing the deal to purchase 97% of Uklon’s corporate rights. The deal amounted to $155.2 million.
In addition, it is known that Kyivstar has plans to enter the Nasdaq exchange. In August 2022, the mobile operator acquired a controlling stake in the medical information system Helsi. And in early February it became known that the company is interested in purchasing the drug booking service Tabletki.ua.
