lifecell has completed a five-month network modernization in the capital, which has significantly improved the quality of mobile communications for over a million subscribers. The operator has chosen a point strategy for infrastructure renewal, focusing on real network performance indicators, rather than multi-year large-scale projects.
According to the company’s press release, lifecell engineers conducted drive tests in various areas of Kyiv and created an interactive map of signal quality, data transfer speed, voice call stability, and content access latency. This allowed them to identify areas with the biggest problems and promptly eliminate them.
The upgrade covered over 700 base stations. Additional LTE900 and LTE2100 modules were installed to expand coverage, and LTE1800 equipment was replaced with more modern ones, which increased network capacity and improved communication stability in peak load areas. Particular attention was paid to improving signal quality inside buildings.
The results of the upgrade: coverage increased by 23%, average download speed by 29%, and signal latency decreased from 43 to 25 milliseconds (by 58%). This is especially important for users of online games, video conferencing, and streaming video, where fast network response is required.
Serhiy Tereshchuk, Technical Director of DVL Group of Companies, emphasized that lifecell will continue to apply the strategy of high-precision modernization in other regions of Ukraine, adapting technical solutions to the needs of specific cities. This approach allows us to quickly respond to the growth of data traffic consumption and improve the quality of communication with minimal resource consumption.
We also previously wrote about how in July 2025, mobile operator lifecell completed the connection of 350 base stations to the high-speed fiber-optic network of Datagroup. By the end of 2025, the company plans to increase this figure to 800.
Over 217,000 numbers ported to lifecell in half a year. If you port your number to your old SIM card by the end of July, you will receive three service packages for the price of one
