According to the Ministry of Defense, the center should become a single point that will unite the military, developers, scientists, and partners to more quickly launch applied solutions for the front.
The first key area is combat data analysis. These are systems that can process information from the battlefield, predict enemy actions, and suggest response options. This should reduce decision-making time in combat conditions.
The second block is autonomous systems. The center directly talks about the development of AI for drones and ground robotic complexes that must operate without GPS and in electronic warfare conditions. They also plan to combine different platforms into one network so that they can perform missions with minimal human involvement.
Separately, the center will deal with the internal processes of the Ministry of Defense. Among the tasks are the creation of AI tools for procurement, financial control, and personnel selection. The idea is to eliminate manual processes that currently slow down work.
The third direction is to support weapons development. A1 plans to launch simulation environments where new solutions can be tested before production. This applies to various types of equipment, including drones and missiles.
The Ministry of Defense also confirmed that the center will operate with the support of the British government and is already looking for specialists to join the team.
In fact, «A1» concentrates in one place tasks that were previously scattered between different units and teams. The publication directly names three areas of responsibility: combat AI systems, internal automation and support for defense developments. Special emphasis is placed on autonomy — the systems must operate without GPS and in conditions of active electronic warfare, which is a critical requirement for modern warfare. Also important is the emphasis on simulation: instead of a long «development — testing ground» cycle, some solutions are planned to be tested in a digital environment. This allows for faster elimination of ineffective ideas and acceleration of the launch of new systems in the troops.
