The shooter The Hollow from Kharkiv game developer Brenntkopf Development has been released on Steam.
According to «Mezha», the plot of the game is based on an informal continuation of the novel «Tiger Hunters» by the famous Ukrainian writer Ivan Bahryany.
The events of the shooter The Hollow take place in the late 1960s in «Zachepylivki» — zones into which the state of Chornoklin is divided. The so-called «Zachepylivki» in the game’s plot are virtual copies of the real settlement of Zachepylivka in the Berestyn district of the Kharkiv region.
A direct reference to Bagryany’s novel is that the game’s characters were sent to a secret location in Siberia, where scientists and dangerous prisoners were held.

«Once they rebelled under the leadership of the former aviation engineer Mnogogrishny, gaining illusory independence for themselves. The player plays the role of „Morok“, the son of one of the scientists who developed a secret weapon here based on a special mineral — tungusium, which exists only in this place. Your task is to figure out what kind of weapon it is and in whose hands it is!», — the game description states.
At the same time, the game’s author admits that The Hollow is «very politicized.»
At the same time, according to the gameplay, The Hollow is an old-school shooter, and the developer compares it to Xenus, the first Far Cry, and early builds of Stalker Oblivion Lost.
The Hollow has English and Ukrainian localizations and, on the occasion of the release, is offered with a 15% discount for 212 UAH.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how a developer from Poltava region is working on the shooter The Hollow with anomalies and Ivan Bahryan.
