«We talked for a long time, discussed the possible and the impossible, and came to the conclusion, 'Why should we lose each other?'.....I stayed,» the specialist recalls. She admits that, although she was «stinging for a while,» she stayed without any doubts. Which IT specialists supported this approach, and which did not consider it correct, and here’s why.

Instead of a conclusion

Head of IT Department Tetyana considers people to be the company’s key resource. That is why she emphasizes that it is important for a specialist, in addition to reviewing their salary, to hear an assessment of their work, to feel that they are truly important to the company and not just wasting their time.

«My opinion is that the company should want people to work for it more, rather than people having to look for a job in another company. It should create conditions that make people want to devote their time and energy to the development of the company,» the expert added, emphasizing that in Adelina’s case, this does not happen often.

However, there is another side of the coin — even with a positive resolution of the issue, the residue from such situations remains with everyone. This is what Head of growth Olga Bocharova believes. According to her, it would be good if the employee first discussed everything that does not suit him with the employer, and if the shortcomings were not corrected, then looked for a new job and went for interviews. «But you went for interviews to make sure that you still deserve it, and then with confirmation of this go and defend your rights,» Olga addressed the author of the post.

According to the expert, in such a situation, the difficulties may be:

  • The new company is in a slump due to the employee’s refusal, and possibly the loss of other candidates.
  • The employer is worried that the employee might leave them, and they won’t know why, because if he doesn’t say anything, then everything is okay for them.
  • For the employee, this is a possibility of the situation repeating itself after some time, because if the issue was money, then over time it will become insufficient again.
