This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Digital Affairs, Mykhailo Fedorov, on his Telegram channel.
«In times of war, this technology is critical to keeping hospitals, schools, critical infrastructure, and frontline regions connected,» he wrote.
Fejorov also thanked the Polish Minister of Digitalization, Krzysztof Gawkowski, and the government for their support.
Payment for subscription plans will continue to be centralized, so already deployed sets will not be disconnected from the network due to overdue payments. For the military, this means stable control and data transmission channels during blackouts; for communities, backup Internet when terrestrial networks are damaged or operating intermittently.
Currently, Ukraine is using over 50,000 Starlinks, of which over 29,000 were provided by Poland. The scale of the network allows for rapid restoration of digital services after strikes on energy and communication nodes.
The situation first escalated after Polish President Karol Nawrocki vetoed a bill on Starlink funding. Against this background, concerns arose about possible service shutdowns. Later, Polish government officials publicly reassured Ukrainian users: the veto does not mean turning off the Internet, and the support mechanism will be regulated legally. The current signed law is the solution that removes uncertainty: funding has been continued, and the operation of the terminals is guaranteed on a systemic basis.
Starlink is now effectively a «safety cushion» for healthcare facilities, schools, «Points of Invincibility,» utilities, and the military. Centralized coverage of subscription fees ensures continuity of service in the fall and winter, when the risks of massive attacks and power system failures increase.
