Razer releases beta version of Synapse web for quick device settings without installation

Razer has opened beta access to Synapse Web, a browser-based version of its gaming peripheral control app. The company is positioning the new tool as a way to quickly change key device settings without installing a full desktop application.
The launch of Synapse Web is reported in Engadget. According to the publication, the web version is aimed at scenarios when the user works on someone else’s or temporary computer — at tournaments, LAN events or while traveling. To access it, a Chromium-based browser is enough: connect the device, open the web interface and make the necessary changes.
In the current beta implementation, Synapse Web allows you to change basic settings, apply quick Chroma RGB lighting effects, and work with profiles that are stored directly in the device’s memory. This means that the configuration «travels» with the device and is not dependent on a specific PC. This approach eliminates one of the main complaints of users — the need to install a heavy application every time for a few edits.
At the same time, the company emphasizes that Synapse Web does not completely replace Synapse 4. For deep customization, backlight synchronization between multiple devices, and complex gaming profiles, the desktop version is still required. The new web tool is intended as a supplement, not a full-fledged alternative.
The move of some of Synapse’s features to the browser is a response to years of community criticism about the stability and «heaviness» of the desktop application. Razer started with limited beta functionality and narrow compatibility, but has already announced plans to gradually expand device support and Synapse Web capabilities.
