"At Uber, we're a high-tech company — 30,000 employees — and not enough of my employees know how to use AI constructively," Khosrowshahi said during an interview for Brown University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Insider reports .
Khosrowshahi said Uber will implement training programs and train employees on how to use the technology. He said schools should do the same with their students.
“The active use of AI to drive better outcomes is something that companies are looking to do,” he says. “I think it would be really helpful if educational institutions taught this before you even got into the company.”
He added that training in using AI agents for coding “will become an absolute necessity at Uber within the year.”
The Uber CEO joins a list of tech leaders who support and even mandate the use of AI at work.
In January, Mark Zuckerberg said that the company's artificial intelligence is no worse than mid-level programmers. In his opinion, AI could already start replacing mid-level developers at Meta, and the company's products will be written by AI engineers.

In January, Salesforce CEO said he had no plans to hire more engineers because AI was doing such a great job : “We’re not going to hire any new engineers this year. We’re seeing a 30% increase in productivity in the engineering department, and we’re going to continue to grow that.”
