According to the Solomyanskyi District Court of Kyiv, the events occurred on March 24-25, 2021 in the premises of the Ukrposhta JSC Department of Post and Post Office at 2 Georgiy Kirpy St. The accused, having access to international mail, secretly stole five parcels with smartphones. The document names Xiaomi Poco M3 (4/128GB), Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 (4/64GB) and Xiaomi Mi 9T (6/64GB), as well as two more Xiaomi devices. The court also provides the shipment numbers and IMEI. As stated in the verdict, on March 25 at approximately 09:00, the man passed the checkpoint and disappeared, having disposed of the phones at his own discretion, namely by transferring them to the pawnshop branches of the IT Lombard branch of the IT Lombard branch.
The verdict was announced on December 16, 2025. The court qualified the actions under Part 2 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft, committed repeatedly) and sentenced him to three years in prison. At the same time, the accused fully admitted his guilt, repented and compensated for the damage, so he was released from serving the sentence with a probation period of one year. During the probation period, he must periodically appear at the probation agency and report any change in his place of residence. The court also canceled the preventive measure in the form of bail and ordered the return of UAH 30,280 to the bailor.
The decision states that the participants in the process did not dispute the key circumstances, therefore a separate examination of the evidence regarding them was deemed inappropriate. The amount of UAH 5,931 is indicated in the document as the «total value of the stolen property» in the case materials.
