According to an interview with Channel 24, in many areas positions are held by small groups, so the transportation of cargo and part of the medical evacuation are increasingly being taken over by ground robotic complexes. Syrsky noted that there are already «thousands» of such platforms, but they also come under attack from enemy UAVs.
He named air evacuation as a separate priority. According to the commander-in-chief, relevant tests have already been conducted and the direction is planned to be developed, but there are strict requirements for the devices. The drone must fly at least 10 km in one direction, have protected communication channels and quickly cover the route at an altitude of 5-7 meters, transporting the wounded from the front line to the evacuation point.
Syrsky also said that the General Staff regularly holds meetings on problematic areas of combat training, in particular with unmanned systems units, and separately discusses medicine and saving lives.
In the same interview, the commander-in-chief emphasized that the nature of war has changed due to the massive use of drones that strike targets at considerable depth. Because of this, the provision of units and the evacuation of the wounded are increasingly switching to unmanned solutions in order to reduce risks to people and not lose time under fire.
